The Basis LA team is expanding! We have created a new role for a Qualitative Research Manager to join our rapidly growing team. This is a unique opportunity in that you’ll play a vital role in growing and defining our qualitative practice in the Los Angeles office. The role will involve working across a variety of qualitative methodologies, with a wide variety of clients. This diversity is hugely important to us – we believe it means that a day at Basis will never be boring! Our clients include leaders in the media, retail, tech, and health & beauty categories.

As a Qual Research Manager at Basis you’ll be a key contributor on qualitative projects, and in some cases responsible for the end to end management of studies, working with suppliers to ensure that everything is on track throughout. You’ll be working very closely with clients on a day-to-day basis, helping us sustain and grow existing relationships, as well as developing new ones through contributing to proposals and pitches.

At Basis we take a very consultative and collaborative approach when it comes to analysis. We all like to get our hands dirty, working as a team to understand the ‘so what’ behind the insights. As a Research Manager, you’ll be expected to contribute to the overall story, in addition to the development and execution of deliverables.

Essential requirements & skills for this role include:

  • 5+ years of experience in a dedicated qualitative role

  • Excellent client management skills

  • Excellent project management skills

  • Moderating experience across a range of methodologies, including focus groups

  • Strong analysis skills

  • Excellent persuasive writing and storytelling abilities

  • Keen eye for design/visual storytelling, and ability to work closely with designers

  • An unwavering commitment to accuracy and attention to detail

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously

  • Comfortable presenting to groups

  • Ability to work well within a team as well as being a self-starter

  • Proactivity

  • Creativity

  • Curiosity- genuine passion for uncovering consumer and shopper insights

  • Flexibility to travel approximately 30% time, open to international travel
